Pokemon GO Book Tag

The Pokemon GO Book Tag was created by readatmidnight. I’ve been a fan of Pokemon for ages and I’m excited to do this tag, combining two of my loves. I wasn’t tagged to do this but I thought I’d do it anyway!

I don’t tag anyone because I’m not sure who has and hasn’t done this tag. If you wanna do this tag as well, go ahead.

The books that started my love for reading was easily the Warrior Cats series by Erin Hunter. I was obsessed with this series when I was younger, I had all the books and all the spin offs. I was highly invested in the fandom and this was way before I even knew what a fandom was. This series focused on four clans of cats and their survival in the wild and it was awesome.

A classic I’ll always love is probably is probably Harry Potter. Who doesn’t love Harry Potter? This series is amazing and will always be special to me. I’m happy to read these books over and over again and I’ll never get bored of them.pokemon-tag-03-zubat This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab is everywhere at the moment and it’s kind of annoying me. Victoria Schwab’s books are always being talked about to the point where I don’t know if I even want to read them in case they don’t live up to the hype. I’m sure her books are great and I might read one of her books at some point in the future but I’m not planning to do it anytime soon.

The first book that comes to my mind is Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. This book is stuffed full of typical YA tropes. The female protagonist is the same as every protagonist in every other fantasy/dystopian story and her discovery of having magical powers that she’s not supposed to have is similar to lots of other stories, as well. I still really like it despite all the cliches.

A series I haven’t started because it’s massive is the Game of Thrones series by George R. R. Martin. There are currently 5 books released in this series, each bigger than the one before it. Plus, it’s a high fantasy series and I struggle with reading this genre sometimes because it can be confusing at first. I will read this series, eventually.

A book that kept me up at night is Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. I’m actually currently reading this and I’ve been reading it way past midnight because it’s sooooo good. I found it a bit confusing at first but I love the characters. I’m so excited to finish this and I’m also dreading it at the same time because I don’t want it to end. However, Crooked Kingdom is coming out in a couple months so I won’t have to wait too long to pick that up.

There are many OTPs. Many many OTPs. It’s hard to pick just one favourite. A few of my most loved couples are Celaena & Rowan from the Throne of Glass series, Feyre & Rhysand from the A Court of Mist and Fury series, Blue & Gansey from The Raven Cycle series and Clary & Jace from The Mortal Instruments series.

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell was a quick read for me. It’s action packed and Rainbow’s Rowell’s writing is really lovely and easy to fly through so I could not put this book down. Plus, the romance in this book is awesome.

Definitely The Mortal Instruments series. Seriously, I will read anything in the shadowhunter world whether it be about actual shadowhunters or vampires or demons or warlocks. I want it all! Which is good because Cassandra Clare doesn’t seem like she’ll stop writing books about the shadow world anytime soon.

I found Scarlet by Marissa Meyer surprising. Although I adored Cinder, it didn’t blow me away as much as this book did. It was so much fun reading this book after becoming more familiar with the world and politics. I loved all the new characters in this book and the adventures and antics in this book were really fun.

I want to read The Vampire Academy series and I’ve heard lots of great things about this series. I feel like the only person who hasn’t read these books. I do have a bit of a soft spot for vampires and I will always enjoy reading about the creatures. I don’t know why I haven’t read this series yet because I’m pretty sure I’ll love it.

I would love love love to own the collector’s edition of Lady Midnight, it is absolutely stunning. Just look at this beauty. If I had this,  I would pick it up and hug it and never put it down. I love the regular edition’s cover as well but this version takes it to another level. The gold and blue together are gorgeous.

I don’t really have any books by new authors that I’m excited for. I’m too busy catching up on hundreds of other authors’ books that I want to read. If you guys have any recommendations for debut novels that I could check out, let me know.

Similar to the spin-off question, I will buy anything Cassandra Clare releases. Literally anything. I love the shadowhunters world so much and I never want to stop living it. I love her writing, her characters and I will never get bored of anything she releases.

I haven’t been waiting on this release for that long but I’ve  been waiting on the fifth book  in the Throne of Glass series, Empire of Storms, for a while. It’s going to be amazing. It’s a shame the cover is my least favourite out of the books so far but I don’t care. I just want to read it now.
